Scholarship Opportunities

SMC Foundation Scholarship Program

The SMC Foundation Scholarship Program Provides a single-application procedure for consideration. Distributes approximately $500,000+ in scholarship funds from the Santa Monica College Foundation (an endowment fund that provides proceeds for about 300 different scholarships), service clubs and local organizations, private individuals, and other off-campus scholarships; provides information about scholarship opportunities from outside sources. Scholarships vary from $250-$2,000 per year, and are awarded as a check issued directly to the student.

SMC Foundation Scholarship Program

Jack Kent Cooke Foundation Undergraduate Transfer Scholarship

The Jack Kent Cooke Foundation Undergraduate Transfer Scholarship makes it possible for the nation’s top community college students to complete their bachelor’s degrees by transferring to a selective four-year college or university. The Foundation provides up to $55,000 per year to deserving students selected annually, making it the largest private scholarship for two-year and community college transfer students in the country.

Jack Kent Cooke Scholarship

The NOAA Educationla Partnership Program (EPP)

The NOAA Educational Partnership Program (EPP) with Minority Serving institutions (MSI) Undergraduate Scholarship provides an opportunity for undergraduate students to study a wide range of science, engineering, mathematical, computer, technology and social science disciplines related to NOAA’s mission and objectives. Scholarships are awarded competitively to rising juniors or 4th year students in a 5-year program, who are full time students attending accredited Minority Serving Institutions (MSI) within the United States and U.S. territories.

NOAA Scholarship

The National Science Foundation (NSF) Scholarship

The National Science Foundation (NSF), is partnering with SMC’s existing Science and Research Initiative (SRI) to offer a "STEM Scholarship Program" and will provide scholarships each semester between Fall 2016 and Spring 2020 to academically talented students with demonstrated financial need who are majoring in one of the supported STEM disciplines.
