The following programs at SMC are currently not eligible for the STEM MÁSprogram:
- Associates Degree in Nursing
- Respiratory Therapy
Program Orientation
Members of the incoming cohort must attend a Program Orientation.
STEM Skills Week
Members of the incoming cohort must participate in STEM Skills Week. This is a week-long workshop where students prepare for the Fall Semester by refreshing their math skills and attending exclusive seminars.
STEM Program Courses
Students in the cohort must complete the following courses during their first year of program participation:
- Counseling 12
- Counseling 15
- Science 10
Counseling Appointments
Each student must attend at least two counseling appointments during each long semester (Fall and Spring).
STEM Workshops
Each student in the cohort must attend at least one STEM Workshop during each long semester (Fall and Spring).
Peer Mentor Contacts
Each student in the cohort must meet with a Peer Mentor/Tutor at least twice during each long semester (Fall and Spring). These meetings can be either Mentoring Sessions and/or Tutoring Sessions.
