Financial Aid Info During COVID-19
Students will be allowed to take approved leaves of absence for concerns related to the coronavirus, even if the student notifies the institution in writing after the approved leave of absence has begun. In that case, the institution would keep any financial aid funds for the student to use when they resume their studies. However, if the student does not return within 180 days, the school would need to move forward with a Return of Title IV (R2T4) funds calculation.
This may impact the student in owing money to the College based on the last date of recorded attendance. Contact the Office of Financial Aid and Scholarships at financialaid@smc.edu or 310-434-4343 for more information.
