Computer Centers (labs) and Technology Support for SMC Students

Use the service or visit the location during posted hours.

 

Eligibility for use

Computer centers (labs) and the on-campus wi-fi network are restricted to students enrolled in the current semester only, with the following exceptions:

  • Students enrolled in the previous fall semester may log in to Library computers during winter session.
  • Students enrolled in the previous spring semester may log in to Library computers during summer session.
  • Past, present, and potential SMC students may use the computer area shared by the Office of Admissions and Records  and the Welcome Center for SMC:

    • admission applications
    • course enrollment
    • student email 
    • orientation
    • and other College-related functions

Wi-Fi

On-Campus Wi-Fi Network (requires enrollment in current semester)

Available 24 hours a day, 7 days a week, except during maintenance periods.

NOTE: All SMC campuses are closed between 11:00 p.m. and 7:00 a.m. unless there are specifically permitted events scheduled with Campus Police.

Virtual Computer Lab

Students enrolled in certain courses are given remote access over the internet from their personal device to a "Virtual Computer Lab" available 24 hours a day, 7 days a week, during the semester. The Virtual Computer Lab provides course-required technology resources that the student is not expected to purchase or license privately. If you are in one of these classes, your instructor will tell you.
