At Santa Monica College, there are many free support and resources for current and future STEM students. Here is our one-stop shop for STEM students at SMC to get the academic support and resources they need to succeed!

STEM Counseling

STEM counselors are available to help you plan your academic goals. Meet with a counselor at least twice a semester to support and guide or assist you with academic and career planning. Counselors also assist students with selecting academic majors, exploring transfer options, and developing plans to meet your educational goals (certificate, AA/AS, transfer).

Financial Aid and Scholarships

We encourage all students to complete the FAFSA or California Dream Act Application (CADAA) to see if you qualify for federal or state financial aid and also, to apply for the SMC Foundation Scholarship. Our counselors are available to assist you with completing your financial aid and/or scholarship applications!

Peer Mentoring and Tutoring

Drop in Zoom and In-Person Tutoring Sessions are now available.

Do you have a question about your homework? Are you having difficulty understanding a concept? STEM Tutors and Peer Mentors are available to help any time we are open.

No appointment necessary - Just drop in via ZOOM or to our STEM Lab! Be sure to check out our tutoring schedule below to view each tutor's scheduled hours and the courses covered.

Math Online Workshop

SMC Math faculty have created free, self-paced online Math Modules that can be a great resource to help you prepare for your math courses! Through these modules you have access to online textbooks, instructional videos, self-paced exercises and self-check assessments.
