Health Reimbursement Arrangements (HRAs)

 

Santa Monica Community College District offered an one-time funding of a Health Reimbursement Arrangements (HRAs). This benefit was offered to the following employee groups below.

  • Classified Employees

  • Classified Managers

  • Confidential Employees

  • Academic Administrators

  • Board of Trustees

  • Personnel Commissioners

  • Police Officers

Please Note: Classified Employees, Classified Managers, Confidential Employees, Academic Administrators, Board of Trustees & Personnel Commissioners hired after January 1, 2012 are not eligible for this benefit. Police Officers hired after January 1, 2013 are not eligiblefor this benefit.

The District Funded HRAs are Based on the Following Criteria

  • Classified Employees (CSEA Unit Members) - The District offered a one-time funding effective January 1, 2012. CSEA Unit Members had to be enrolled in a CalPERS health care plan other than PERSCare on December 31,2011.

  • Board of Trustees, Personnel Commissioners, Academic Administrators, Classified Managers & Confidential Employees - The District offered funding to a HRA on January 1, 2011 & January 1, 2012. Employees had to be enrolled in a CalPERS health care plan on January 1, 2011.

  • Police Officers (SMCPOA Unit Members) - The District offered a one-time funding effective January 1, 2013. SMCPOA Unit Members had to be enrolled in a CalPERS health care plan other than PERSCare on December 31,2012.

MidAmerica Administrative & Retirement Solutions, Inc. is the plan administrator for the HRAs accounts. Eligible employees will need to contact MidAmerica directly to file a claim or if they have questions regarding their account.
