Faculty & Staff Computer Lab*
*for current Santa Monica College faculty, classified employees, managers, and administrators.
We are excited to announce that the Faculty and Staff computer lab will be relocating from M106 to a dedicated section of the main campus Business Building room 231, effective Tuesday, January 2, 2024. The new location will include PCs, Macs and 2 dedicated printers for faculty and staff.
Hours:
- Office of Information Technology support staff are typically available in this location from 8 a.m. - 3:30 p.m. Monday through Thursday.
- I.T. support staff may not be available in the room on non-instructional days.
- Closed on campus holidays.
- Campus access policy controls access to the building.
- Technology support information is available online.

Room 231 also hosts the student computer lab for Computer Science and Information Systems.
Shared Computer Workstations
Computers for shared use by SMC employees are scattered around all SMC campuses, include a few computers located in main campus Reprographics and instructional department faculty/staff workrooms.
Canvas
- Canvas LMS is the course management system adopted by Santa Monica College.
- Administered by the Office of Distance Education, not the Office of Information Technology.

The Vision Resource Center is an online learning and communication platform that offers all California community college employees equitable access to professional development opportunities.
- Sponsored by the California Community Colleges Chancellor's Office for all California community college regular employees (faculty, classified employees, managers, and administrators).
- Thousands of learning modules, including content specifically created for the California Community Colleges.
- Systemwide online communities available to 137,000 professionals, making it the largest collaboration space in the system.
- The only systemwide calendar with the intention to list all professional development events open to California Community College professionals.
