The SMC Virtual Computer Lab (VCL) service allows students in certain courses to access specialized computer services over the internet, if the student has a personal computer able to install and run the necessary free connection software.
Your instructor will tell you if you are in an eligible course. Please check with your instructor if you are not sure.
You cannot connect to the Virtual Computer Lab before the semester starts or after it ends. If you enroll in an eligible course after it has started, you must wait for 24 hours after enrollment before you can connect.
The specific connection software depends on which class a student is taking. Most computers manufactured within the last five years and running Microsoft Windows, Apple MacOS, or the ChromeOS are able to install and run the connection software.
