Waivers and Exemptions

 

*Our online services will be closed from December 19, 2024  to January 2, 2025.  No evalutions will be processed during this time.*

Please review our waiver process and submit a waiver to the appropriate Department. The Success and Engagement Center can only process waiver requests for the following classes:

  • English
  • ESL
  • Math
  • Anatomy 1
  • Biology 21
  • Chemistry 11

Please read thought the information on this page before submitting a waiver request. Waivers will be denied if incomplete or incorrect. Waivers are reviewed during business hours and can take up to 7 business days to be processed. Click here to submit your waiver.

Please note: waiver submissions during holidays and over weekends, will be reviewed once the campus returns. Waivers after the return of a long break could take up to 10 days to process. 

Note: If using college coursework from an accredited institution and/or AP test scores to qualify for an AA degree and/or IGETC or CSU GE Certification, you must request the college/university you attended to send your official transcript and/or request from the College Board your official AP test score report to be sent to SMC Admissions.  Speak with a counselor in the General Counseling & Transfer Services Center to request the evaluation and to avoid taking classes you don’t need.
