Each semester the Dance Department hosts three master classes sponsored by the SMC Associates, FREE!

• Miss Prissy: Krump Fusion: Exploring the Connection between Krump and Contemporary Dance

SMC Dance Majors have the opportunity to study with leaders in the field via our Company in Residence and Artist-in-Residence programs. Guest Artists have included Diavolo Architecture in Motion, Andre Tyson (former principal dancer Alvin Ailey American Dance Theater), Dr. Sheron Wray (Associate Professor, UC Irvine), Joel Robert Smith (Associate Professor, UC Riverside), Andrew Vaca (Professor, CSU Long Beach), and Kate Hutter (Artistic Director, Los Angeles Contemporary Dance Company).

The Dance Department hosts several auditions for summer
 Intensives, International Study, and College Transfer. Opportunities have included Florence Summer Dance, 2019 Beijing Tourism Festival, LA Follies, State University of New York: Brockport, Nazareth College, among others.
