Welcome to SMC! Applying to the program of your choice is easy.
You’re ready to start working toward your career or advancing in your current position. SMC is ready to get you there! We offer over 180 degrees, certificates, and transfer options to reach your goals. Credit, noncredit (free), and community education (low-cost) classes and student support services are offered online and in-person. New Students
Apply here if this is your first time attending SMC.
Returning Students
If you are returning to SMC after 1 year or more, you will need to reapply here.
International F1/F2 Students
Prospect international students living out-of-country or with visa statuses can apply
here.
Undocumented Students
Eligible students under AB540 can apply here.
High School Concurrent Program
If you are currently in high school and want to get ahead on your college career,
enroll here.
Noncredit and Adult Education
Apply to our noncredit programs if you are interested in personal and/or professional
development.
Requirements for New Students Taking Credit Courses
- Must be 18 years of age or older; or
- Younger student who has graduated from a regionally accredited high school or possesses a GED.
- 16 years of age and possessing a "Student Score Report" for passing the California High School Proficiency Examination, a California Proficiency Program (CPP) Official Score Report, or the equivalent (e.g., a HiSET score report; a TASC [Test Assessing Secondary Completion] score report).
- Requirements differ for High School Concurrent Enrollment Students.
