Since we have not been able to hold live performances during the COVID year, the SMC Emeritus Concert Band has put together this virtual performance of Hillside March by Randall D. Standridge. It is a fitting tribute to Founding Emeritus Concert Band Director Wallace Stanley Umber.
The Emeritus Concert Band has been in existence since 1979. The ensemble members come from a variety of backgrounds and experience levels. Some have been playing with the group for several decades! It is a wonderful community to make music with and new members are always welcome. Please come and enjoy the musical stylings of this talented group!
The Emeritus Concert Band will be performing at The Broad Stage on February 26, 2023 at 3 p.m.

About the Conductor
Yosuke Miyoshi joined Emeritus as the band director in Fall 2015. Mr. Miyoshi started his teaching career at Santana High School in Santee, California as the director of the band, choir and guitar programs. He is currently the full-time director of bands at Paul Revere Charter Middle School in Brentwood, California.
Mr. Miyoshi received his teaching credential and Bachelor of Arts in Trombone Performance and Music Education from UCLA and his Master of Arts in Education from Point Loma Nazarene University.
