SMC Foundation Stands with Dreamers
Santa Monica College Foundation has established a scholarship fund to provide immediate assistance to SMC's students who are Dreamers and are faced with an unforeseen, advanced financial burden to re-apply for DACA by October 5. The application fee is $505 per student. With the Trump Administration’s announcement to end DACA, the reapplication process was fast-tracked, placing an unreasonable financial burden on our students.
SMC Foundation is committing a pledge of $15,000 and a call to action to the entire SMC community to match these funds. Please consider a gift to this timely and most important initiative. 100% of the proceeds will directly benefit SMC Dreamer Students who are legally in the United States under DACA (Deferred Action for Childhood Arrivals). The scholarship program will be administered in partnership with the Adelante Program.
