Transfer Admission Guaranteed to Grand Canyon University

GCU welcomes transfer students from California community colleges to earn a bachelor's degree from our premier private Christian university in Phoenix.

If you meet one of the TAG requirements, you will automatically be accepted at GCU and may enter into an undergraduate degree program.

  • 6-24 transferrable college credits: Post-secondary (college) transcripts with an unweighted GPA of 2.75 or above

  • 25-90 transferrable college credits: Post-secondary (college) transcripts with an unweighted GPA of 2.25 or above

  • Fully certified Intersegmental General Education Transfer Curriculum (IGETC) or California State University General Education (CSU GE Breadth) – with a minimum cumulative transfer GPA of 2.25

Tuition for California Residents

No Out-of-State Tuition! GCU transfer students from California are not required to pay out-of-state tuition. Despite your transfer status, the average cost of tuition is approximately $8,600 per year* after institutional scholarships and grants. Room and board rates start at just $6,250 per year.** Transfer students also do not have to pay application fees for admissions.

*Average tuition after scholarships is approximately $8,600. Scholarships may be awarded based on 6th-semester transcripts. At the time in which final, official transcripts are received, GCU reserves the right to rescinded or modify the scholarship if it is determined that eligibility was not achieved. GCU reserves the right to decline scholarship awards for any reason. If a student does not meet the minimum renewal criteria, their scholarship will be forfeited. Housing and meal plan rate includes triple occupancy suite-style residence hall at $7,300 Dining Dollars, plus applicable sales tax as required by state law. Prices reflect 2021-2022 and are subject to change.
