Gain 10 weeks of experience during the summer that involves socially-directed science
and technology education, research, and internship. Unique in the nation and the world,
the SFF includes an exciting research internship in emerging areas of science and technology,
a cross-interdisciplinary shared curriculum on socially-directed science and technology,
and personal and professional advancement activities including inclusive leadership
and collaboration, scientific and technical communication, networking, and more.
Boston, MA (SFF 2021 will be in a fully virtual format and students will participate
remotely in all program activities from their city of residence)
A competitive living expenses stipend and fully-funded instructional costs
Currently enrolled in an undergraduate degree-granting program at an accredited post-secondary
institution and in good academic standing
Genuine interest in science and technology applied to social impact
Available to participate full-time in hours compatible with program activity time
zones for the entire duration of the program (tentative dates: June 7th - August 15th,
2021)
Have no other employment (full-time or part-time) or formal (enrolled) classes for
the full duration of the program
Submit completed online application and all supplementary documents in English including answers to approximately 70
questions, 5 essay questions, resume/CV, and unofficial transcripts
African American, Hispanic, Native American, Native Hawaiian & Pacific Islander, first-generation
students, students from low socioeconomic backgrounds, students enrolled at minority-serving
institutions, teaching institutions, and community colleges are strongly encouraged
to apply.
