The Biomedical Education Pipeline Initiative (BEPI) is a paid research internship
that provides undergraduate students from diverse and underrepresented backgrounds
with an opportunity to develop basic research skills as they consider postgraduate
education and a career in healthcare. The summer BEPI research internship lasts eight
to 10 weeks and is designed to broaden the participant's exposure to hands-on research
at an academic medical center. Mentored by Cedars-Sinai faculty, research interns are exposed to a diverse spectrum of leading-edge technology
in multiple disciplines and projects related to basic, translational or clinical research.
