Scholars Program

UCLA Transfer Alliance Program (TAP)

TAP at UCLA

The Transfer Alliance Program is a collaboration between local community college Honors/Scholars Programs and UCLA's College (formerly College of Letters and Science). The program is designed to encourage academic excellence at the community college level and to promote diversity and retention in the UCLA transfer population. Scholars students who are TAP certified receive priority consideration for admission to UCLA. If admitted, TAP students are eligible to apply for scholarships reserved for the Transfer Alliance Program.

This priority admissions agreement does not extend to majors in any of the other undergraduate schools/colleges at UCLA, with the exception of the Public Affairs major in the Luskin School, Education and Social Transformation major in the School of Education and Public Health B.A. and B.S. major in the Fielding School of Public Health.  However, students pursuing non-TAP majors such as Engineering, Music, Nursing, Arts and Architecture, or Theater, Film/Television may obtain TAP certifications for an appropriate alternate major in The College,  Public Affairs or Public Health (B.A. or B.S.) if the student completes the necessary pre-requisites.
