BECAP/BETO Faculty Training

 

The Bioenergy Research and Education Bridge Program (BRIDGES) is a brand-new bioenergy case study-based education curriculum created by the U.S. Department of Energy (DOE) Bioenergy Technologies Office (BETO) in partnership with Argonne National Laboratory (ANL) and Idaho National Laboratory (INL) as well as education, community, industry, and other government partners.

Bridges LogoSpend two days learning about the BRIDGES case studies with other faculty from Southern California Community Colleges and the BECAP. Participants will focus on the “Municipal Solid Waste-to-Energy: Traditional Ecology and Environmental Justice” case study. At the end of the workshop, participants will get access to all the bioenergy case studies to use in their class. View the case studies.

After completing the workshop, participants are eligible to earn a certificate from the DOE for implementing a case study in their classroom.

Faculty from BECAP partner colleges will receive a $400 stipend for the workshop. To earn the stipend faculty must attend and complete the workshop, submit a post-workshop survey and complete one of the following:

  • Implement a case study in one of your courses
  • Write a reflection MOU
  • Attend the BECAP intersegmental conference (March 26, 2025)
