We are committed to providing a supportive, safe and inclusive environment that empowers students to discover and explore the study of life and the natural environment, while developing skills in critical and scientific thinking.

As such, the Life Sciences Department offers exemplary courses that prepare students for successful transfer and a variety of careers in biological, medical, environmental, nutrition, and biotechnological sciences. We offer a well-recognized pre-nursing sequence and field biology opportunities in marine and terrestrial biology. We also offer several courses that fulfill general education requirements, as well as provide general interest courses to the community. We take pride in continuing to update our curriculum and the learning experience so that we can better serve the goals of today’s students.
