Graphic Design

Hello! My name is Jane Bergstrom, I'm a passionate graphic designer based in Los Angeles, California. I believe that design is not only a visual expression but also a reflection of the people and companies behind it.

Nature has always been a great source of inspiration for me. Whether it's hiking in the mountains or exploring the local parks, I'm drawn to the beauty of the natural world. My international background has also exposed me to various cultures, architecture, and ways of life, which all influence my creativity.

My extensive background in customer service has taught me the value of effective communication and delivering high-quality work. I'm passionate about using design to solve problems and create meaningful experiences for users.

SMC GO Redesign

UX/UI

Vitamin/Supplement Branding Graphic
Evaluating the redesign and potential of the SMC GO App.

Problem

The app has made significant progress since its initial launch in 2017. However, the current version still suffers from certain issues. These include repetitiveness, cluttered interface, missing features, and areas that could be improved. Throughout the project, I observed users facing problems such as frequent logouts, excessive clicks to access popular features like Canvas and Corsair Connect, and a lack of an easily accessible interactive map.

Insights

I have learned that the majority of the studets we’ve talked to want shortcuts - direct accsess to canvas, corsair connect, my ed plan etc without the use of external links and going through several subpages to get there. Another sought-after feature is an interactive campus map showing the students current location as they navigate through the campus.

Solution

We have conducted interviews with current SMC students to gain fruitful information on what makes the app great and what can be improved. We have been communicating with stakeholders throughout this process giving them the feedback from the students interviewed allowing them to implement new features based on that feedback.
