Explore Student Equity Center

The Student Equity Center advocates, educates, and promotes inclusivity for all SMC students. It serves as a public platform to inform and educate students, faculty, and staff on best practices to eliminate systemic racism, gender bias, and LGBTQ+ inequities. We offer a variety of workshops, events, and resources that cultivate social justice, an inclusive learning environment, and allyship.

One: Gender Equity Center

The Gender Equity Center fosters student success and retention by creating a designated space for the safe expression of gender identity, the creation and dissemination of knowledge, inquiry, and education with regards to gender and sexuality, sexual assault, and harassment services and education.

Two: Racial Justice Center

The Racial Justice Center focuses on the success, completion, and retention of our students of color, specifically our Black, Latinx, Asian, Pacific Islander, Native/Indigenous students, and students of two or more races.

The PRIDE Center celebrates LGBTQ+ history and supports a safe and inclusive environment for students, staff, faculty, and community members by building an understanding of sexual orientation, gender identities, and gender expression.

The Santa Monica College Dream Resource Center is committed to creating a safe, nurturing, and supportive environment for undocumented students, and students from mixed-status households, to feel empowered to achieve their academic, professional, and personal goals.
