Purpose

To promote effective coping with common life changes that follow a stroke or an acquired brain injury (ABI)

To foster a sense of wellness, empowerment, and self-satisfaction

To maintain physical fitness, flexibility, strength, endurance, and balance through exercise

To develop strategies that assist with functional cognitive skills, in daily activities

To enhance communication skills in a group setting
About the Program
- Free, no cost
- Program times: Winter, Spring, Summer and Fall semesters
- Communication classes: Wednesdays - 2 sections (based on skill level)
- Physical exercise classes: Wednesdays - 2 sections (based on skill level)
- Cognitive classes: Fridays - 2 sections
- Place: Emeritus classrooms at 1227 2nd Street, Santa Monica, CA (hybrid and online classes available)

How to Enroll in Pathfinders
Students must contact Erika Deuel, Center for Students with Disabilities at deuel_erika@smc.edu or 310-434-4442 prior to class attendance. Waiting lists are common for most classes.
Students must complete department application and enrollment paperwork as well as submit medical verification of their Acquired Brain Injury or Stroke.
Students must complete department application as well as Emeritus enrollment.
