STEM
I found SMC through a representative visiting my high school. I joined the STEM and scholars programs my first year. It was a difficult 4 years but it wouldn’t be possible without SMC.
SMC completely changed my life. Out of high school I barely had a 2.0 GPA. I struggled with taking care of my ill father, working full time, and taking a bus from Van Nuys to SMC.
SMC was a place full of wonderful professors and staff, great professors, and very bright students. The resources SMC provided me with were beyond what I imagined. #1 in transfers for a reason!!
I wanted to thank the SMC faculty and staff. The scholars and STEM program directors, and I am eternally grateful for Jose Cue and Denise Rodriguez. Without them I would have never been able to dream.
