Transfer to Brown University

I came to SMC after my service in the army. My determination to transfer to a four-year university led me to it. Deciding to attend SMC was easy, knowing that it is California’s #1 transfer school.
At SMC, I met lifelong friends and advisors. Not only did I transform from a soldier to a student, but also learned how to plan, manage time, and study effectively. I was also part of Student Veterans of America (SVA) and the “All Eyes on Me” dance club.
I maintained a 4.0 GPA for all three semesters I attended SMC. I was most proud of the fact that I made a smooth and successful transition from my 6-year break in education.
SMC has a great Veterans Success Center (VRC). The staff and counselors work very hard to provide the best service available to veterans at SMC, and they are definitely the reason I am where I am today.
