I started at SMC a week after my HS graduation. Even though I endured on average a 4 to 5 hour daily bus commute from the SF Valley, I was determined to transfer and attend the school of my choice.
SMC allowed me to really explore and learn about myself, especially my love for science with the STEM program. I got to intern at UCLA and even present research at the SACNAS 2017 national conference!
Don't be afraid to ask for help. Reach out to your friends, your professors, and your counselors. Also don’t be afraid to get involved on campus! Join clubs, student government, and SMC's programs!
