I took a four-year gap after high school and I decided to come to SMC not knowing what I wanted to major in. After taking a Counseling 20 class, I realized that I have a passion for communication.
SMC influenced my life by giving me a second change. I never thought I would go back to school to get an education.
SMC gave me an opportunity to explore what my strengths are and how I can improve
them. It helped shape the person I am today and find a community who shares the same
drive as I.
Lastly, embrace you story for it is unique just like you.
Shout out to my mom for supporting me in every season of my life and for encouraging me to not give up throughout this journey.
