Dear SMC Colleagues:

We have been keeping all of you in our thoughts in the wake of October 14’s tragic workplace shooting. The last few days have been a rollercoaster of grief, anxiety, and heartache. As noted in several college-wide messages, Santa Monica College has been planning activities to bring colleagues together.

Mark Your Calendars for a Thursday, October 24 Listening Session

The focus of this session will be on listening and gathering your feedback so that we might structure future responses and training accordingly. Please save the date and plan on being there, if you are able.

What: A Listening Session for SMC Colleagues (In-Person Only)

When: 9:30 to 11 a.m., Thursday, October 24

Where: Orientation Hall (Room 183), Student Services Center, First Floor, SMC Main Campus

Overview: An opportunity for us to gather in one space and share feedback/listen. Your feedback will be crucial in identifying ways to strengthen the college’s safety environment.
