Nicola Vruwink, MFA, is an educator, designer, and artist committed to mentoring future creatives. She has found her home in the California community college system where she is full-time faculty in the Graphic Design program at Santa Monica College. Three adjectives that describe Nicola are passionate, tenacious, and nimble and she is wholly committed to supporting creatives in their pursuit of an education and career.
Not only is Nicola an experienced higher-education faculty, but she has more than 20 years in the creative industry working with clients including Goop, Grey’s Anatomy, Amazon Prime Video, MTV, Palm Springs Art Museum, Lancaster Museum of Art & History, and others. Originally from Iowa, Nicola received her MFA from the University of Washington in Seattle and studied in the MFA program at the University of Iowa. Previously Nicola taught at ArtCenter College of Design, EL Camino Community College, and the University of Washington.
