Walt Louie is the son of immigrant parents, born and raised in San Francisco's Chinatown. He is a first generation college student, undergrad at UC Berkeley, and grad at SF State University. His broadcast television career started at the SF PBS and CBS stations. After his move to Los Angeles, he worked primarily as a freelance editor. His experience includes working on sitcoms, live sports, reality series, documentaries, features and TV films, DVD content, feature film trailers, and commercials.
Walt has taught workshops and classes at Loyola Marymount University, University of Hawaii and UCLA. He has worked on productions in Xian, Beijing, Amsterdam, Kyoto, Tokyo, London and Frankfurt, plus many of the states in the U.S.
Walt is currently teaching three post-production editing classes: DMPOST3 - Adobe Premiere, DMPOST30 - Avid Media Composer, DMPOST60 - Advanced Post Workflows -DaVinci. DMPOST32 - DaVinci Resolve Color grading. DMPOST1 - Production Workflow.
