Stephanie Lewis

I am proud to be part of Santa Monica College, as a full-time faculty member and head of the Acquired Brain Injury Program.  This unique opportunity allows me to combine my experience working in the medical field with a love for teaching students. For the last 25 years, I have been a speech-language pathologist providing therapy to those who have had a Stroke, Traumatic Brain Injury or other Neurological event.  From the ICU to outpatient rehab to management, I have done a little bit of everything. My goal now is to work with students as they navigate the college setting, especially helping them to learn their new brains and the new rules that go along with it. Recovery is a journey and I see myself, as well as my colleagues as coaches in the process. When I am not working, you can find me hiking, walking my dogs, volunteering or hanging out with my family.
