Salvador Carrasco is a Mexican film director based in Santa Monica, California. He is the writer and director of the highly-acclaimed feature film The Other Conquest, a revisionist approach to the Spanish Conquest of Mexico told from the indigenous Aztec perspective. Distributed by Twentieth Century Fox, “The Other Conquest” was the highest-grossing film in Mexican history at the time of its release. It was also one of the Top 10 Films of the Year according to The New York Times and The Los Angeles Times. Variety called it "the first 3-million-dollar movie that looks like 30!" and Oscar Watch described it as “one of the more astonishing feature film debuts in recent memory.”
