Technical Overview
The Broad Stage is a fully loaded, professionally sized stage. Maximum seating capacity in the auditorium is 537. The building comes with an impressive inventory of lighting, video, and sound equipment.
Lighting
The Broad standard lighting positions include a 1st and 2nd AP, near and far box booms, balcony rail, eight on-stage side-light booms, and nine over-stage electrics. The rep-plot consists of about 150 conventional lights, forty-eight color-changing fixtures, and thirty intelligent lights.
Audio
The Broad Stage comes equipped with a DiGiCo Audio System including two digital consoles - an SD10 and an SD8. This is complemented by 12 channels of wireless microphones, a high-end microphone package (including Sennheiser, Neumann, and Schoeps microphones), and 14 stage monitors. Our audio system is capable of providing Stereo, 3.1 or Dolby Digital 5.1 Surround Sound (for film screenings).
Video
The Broad Stage comes equipped with a Christie CP2200 Digital Cinema Projector that
services a Silver movie screen 42 ft wide by 20 ft tall.
Our Panasonic DW-830 Projector services a 16 ft by 12 ft projection screen or digital
projections on our white cyclorama. Please note that the Broad Stage is designed for
live music and film screenings may require supplemental audio equipment.
The Stage
With a full complement of soft goods in place, stage area dimensions are 40 ft wide by 38 ft deep. The Broad has a ribbon grid that is 54 feet from the stage floor and a fly system of 38 working line-sets. We have a Marley floor and a full orchestra shell available in three configurations.
