Birds in the Moon Student Exhibition

A collaboration with The Broad Stage for the world premiere of a new, mobile chamber opera, Birds in the Moon

January 2020 – August 2021

SMC students created artworks in response to the opera and its themes, which draw on a fantastical 17th c. theory that birds migrate to the moon and back each year. Christopher Badger, Director of the Pete and Susan Barrett Gallery, selected works to create a curated virtual exhibition. The Broad Stage then selected work from the virtual exhibition for uses to be determined during the run of the event.
