Retired Trustee Dorothy Ehrhart-Morrison, Ph.D.

1994-2006

Dorothy Ehrhart-Morrison, a Santa Monica resident for more than 30 years, was elected to the Board of Trustees in November 1994, re-elected in 1998 and 2002, and retired in November 2006. She served as chair in 2000.

Dr. Ehrhart-Morrison, an educator, author, and retired business manager co-founded Discovery, an enrichment program for Santa Monica third- fourth- and fifth-grade students. Her past and current participation in local and area community organizations include the League of Women Voters, NAACP, Santa Monica Recreation and Parks Commission, Santa Monica Renters Rights, Santa Monica Democratic Club, Malibu Democratic Club, Santa Monica Convention and Visitors Commission, National Women's Political Caucus, Pan-African Doctoral Scholars, Beverly Hills West Links, Inc., Women on Target, Wilshire/Montana Neighborhood Coalition, Ocean Park Community Center Board, Sojourn, a shelter for battered women, and FAME-Youth Job Training.

She received her bachelor's degree in education from Texas Southern University, and master's and doctorate degrees in education from Claremont Graduate University.
