Orientation Information

First-Time College Students are required to complete the new student orientation as part of the state mandated process. For these students, a Fall/Spring enrollment date & time is only released after completing the online orientation.

If you are attending SMC for the Summer/Winter Session only, you are not required to participate in orientation. New SMC students who indicated on their SMC application they previously attended college are not required to complete the mandatory online orientation, but may review the orientation under the "Guest" login.

The SMC new student Online Orientation is available 24 hours daily. Computers are available at the SMC Welcome Center for your convenience or you may use any off-campus device with internet access. Plan to spend approximately 45 minutes completing the orientation.

You must sign-on, using your assigned SMC network account username and password, and complete orientation during the period for the term for which you are applying. If you have applied for a future term or have not yet applied, you may preview the online orientation using the "Guest" login. This preview will not clear your orientation requirement.
