Santa Monica Watershed Presentation
Come learn about our local watersheds, how stormwater from SMC impacts downhill communities, and what we can do to reduce that impact through green streets, swales, rain gardens creek daylighting and more. The presentation includes a hands-on workshop, by Architect Isabelle Duvivier from Verdant Venice Group, to map impermeable surfaces, natural and existing storm water flows, historic and existing ecologies, stormwater capture and recharge opportunities, and future native plants and green space habitat.

The Power of Your VOTE
Voting is one of the most powerful environmental actions you can take. Citizens Climate Lobby, a nonpartisan organization, will discuss how they empower everyday people to advocate for national legislation to address the climate crisis. With over 420+ chapters across the United States, we welcome volunteers across the political spectrum who are serious about solving climate change.

Movie screening: The American Southwest
Guest speaker, Bill Selby, retired SMC Geography professor, author, and naturalist will discuss the movie while we eat pizza and learn how rain and snow melt make amazing journeys from the Colorado mountains to your tap in SoCal … and how much energy it takes to get here. How have our water wars left us with fewer choices and multiple challenges to keep our life blood flowing? Rediscovering the Golden State
