Xerox Multi-Function Devices
The Santa Monica College Reprographics Department has collaborated with the Xerox Corporation to develop a networked and centrally managed Multi-Function Device Fleet. We support 75 networked multifunction devices that are used to copy, print and scan-to- SMC email. As part of our contracted services with the Xerox Corporation, we have a Xerox technician available on-campus Mon-Fri from 8am-5pm. If you are in need of service for your multi-function device, please contact Xerox at 1-800-822-2979 and provide them with the unit serial number. The Xerox dispatcher will contact our onsite technician and send him to your location within 4 hours of the service call.
Faculty members receive copy/print allocations at the start of every fiscal year (July 1). Full-time instructors receive a credit of 1,000 copies/prints and adjunct faculty receive 500 copies/prints per year. These multi-function device allocations can be used at any Xerox log-in device and they are designed to be used for small jobs or emergency needs throughout the fiscal year. Larger print jobs with multiple originals should go through the DSF Web Print system.

Xerox Mobile Printing!
To print from any campus Xerox Multi-Function Device (MFD) using your laptop, ipad or other device, you simply send an email to
firstname.lastname@example.org and attach the file(s) to be printed. You’ll get a confirmation back with a passcode. Go to any campus Xerox MFD, log-in, tap on the mobile print icon, enter the code and printout your file(s). Printable file types include MS Office Suite & PDFs.
Print Driver Procedures:
The Xerox MFD directory for campus PCs can be located by entering \\mfd in the start menu. Locate the device location you want by clicking on Details in the Directory. Double click on the device name to download the print driver to your PC. If you still have an old MFD print driver please be sure to remove it.
