Special Observing Event: Thin Crescent Moon, Earthlight, and Jupiter

Location

Planetarium

Start Time

7/5/2019 8:00 PM

End Time

7/5/2019 9:30 PM

Description

Explore a slender 3-day-old crescent Moon in telescopes, and observe the subtle shadings of Earthlight falling on the surface.

Then switch to the mighty gas giant Jupiter and its four largest moons, rising in the southeast near the red giant star Antares.

If clouds interfere, we'll view high-resolution images in the planetarium.

Dress warmly!
