Submission deadlines for both petitions are as follows:
Start of Spring Semester until April 30th

Certificate of Achievement (Career Certificate)
Certificate of Achievement:All Certificates of Achievement offered at Santa Monica College are designed to provide students with the necessary skills to compete successfully in related job markets. Certificates of Achievement programs offered by Santa Monica College meet the needs of people in business and industries. The teaching faculty in these programs is well trained with both academic and industry experience. Each career program has an advisory board composed of industry representative to insure that the curricula are current and that they meet industry needs and standards.
At least 50% of the units required for Certificates of Achievement must be completed at Santa Monica College.
Students must receive a grade of C or higher in each course to successfully complete the Certificate of Achievement.
Department certificates are designed for individuals seeking very short-term education and training in preparation for work. Department have fewer than 18 units of coursework required, focus on a specific career area, and do not include General Education or elective classes.
At least 50% of the units required for Department certificates must be completed at Santa Monica College. Students must receive a grade of C or higher in each course to successfully complete the Department Certificate.
Submission Instruction for Certificate of Achievement:
Option 1. Come in person to the admissions & records office to retrieve and submit form (No fees are required)

For the Department Certificate, you must retrieve and submit the application at the respective Department's office.
