Summer 2016 – Payment deadline: Wednesday, Jun 1st, 2016 at 7 pm
Fall 2016 - Payment deadline: Wednesday, Jul 27th, 2016 at 7 p.m.
For students in the Intensive English Program (IEP) your fee payment dates are as follows:
- For Summer 2016: Summer Session Intensive English Program (IEP) students must pay all your tuition and fees by: TBA (To be announced).
For Fall 2016: Spring Session Intensive English Program (IEP) students must pay all your tuition and fees by: TBA (To be announced).
Fees for the Intensive English Program must be paid at the Bursar's Office.
For all other F-1 students, you are responsible for paying all of their fees by the published fee payment deadlines. Students who do not pay their fees by the deadlines will be dropped from their classes. This is a significant change from past practice, where all F-1 visa students were given extra time to pay.
Please make arrangements with the person or organization who is providing funding for you so that you have access to your funds when you register for classes. Registration for Summer & Fall 2016 classes begins in May, 2016.
If you cannot pay by the payment deadlines indicated above, please come to the International Education Center (IEC) to fill out a "Fee Postponement Request Form".
The fee postponement deadline for the Summer & Fall semester 2016 is: TBA (to be announced)
You must provide compelling proof that you cannot pay in order for the IEC to consider offering a payment plan to you. Not all request can be approved.
We strongly encourage you to make your payment arrangements for Summer and Fall at your earliest convenience so that you do not risk losing your classes.
Please note that as an International Student, you must enroll in and complete a minimum of 12 units to maintain your valid F-1 status. One online class of up to 3 units of online classes can count toward your full-time enrollment.
All students are responsible and obligated to adhere to the rules for dropping a class. If you do not drop the course(s) by the refund deadline you will be responsible for the fees and a hold will be placed on your records, even if you do not go to class. The hold will remain until all fees are paid. The hold prevents you from enrolling in future terms and restricts access to services such as transcripts, enrollment verification, issuing diplomas, etc.
How to pay your fees:
How to pay for your classes. You may pay online or in person with a Visa or MasterCard; mail a pre-printed, personal check; or pay in person at the Santa Monica College Bursar's Office on the main campus. Non-resident tuition may be paid by Visa, MasterCard, cashier's check or by a pre-printed, personal check from an in-state California bank. A twenty-five dollar ($25.00) fee will be assessed for dishonored checks, invalid credit cards, or card numbers entered in error and may result in cancellation of your enrollment.

We assist students in planning their course schedules and guiding them through the process of obtaining degrees and certificates or transferring to universities. Transportation & parking information
All SMC students with a current semester enrollment sticker on their SMC student I.D. can ride ANY Big Blue Bus ANY time for FREE! Special thanks go to the SMC Associated Students for funding this major expansion of SMC's transportation initiative—launched in 2007 in partnership with the Big Blue Bus—aimed at improving access to SMC and reducing traffic, noise, and air pollution in the community. On-Campus and Satellite Campus
An on-campus parking decal does NOT guarantee you a parking space. What a parking decal does is entitle you to use on-campus student parking areas on a space-available, first-arrival basis.
NOTE: Your parking decal is for ON-CAMPUS PARKING ONLY—it is NOT a residential (street) parking permit.
For parking at SMC's main campus, you MUST purchase a parking decal for $45 for the Summer/Winter & $85 for the Fall/Spring. This decal provides access to parking lots at ALL SMC campuses. Parking decals may be purchased online through Corsair Connect.
Parking at an SMC satellite campus—Academy of Entertainment & Technology, Airport Arts, Bundy, or the Performing Arts Center—is FREE for students attending classes there, but REQUIRES A DECAL. Satellite campus decals may be picked up in person or—for a small fee to cover mailing costs—requested online through the Corsair Connect. Click here for more details.
Parking at the Bundy Campus shuttle lot is FREE for SMC students and staff. Please consult SMC's transportation website for the latest details.
Inter-campus shuttle service is FREE (SMC I.D. required) from the Performing Arts Campus. From the other satellite campus locations, please ride the Big Blue Bus for free with activated student ID and current AS sticker. Please consult SMC's parking website for routes and operating hours.
Handicap Parking: The display of a DMV handicap placard AND an SMC parking decal entitles you to park in any handicap, student, or staff parking space.
How to get your student ID card
To get your ID card, visit the Bursar's office or the Bursar's office Annex at the Admissions office during the first week of class.
The ID card is used to check out books from the SMC Library and for attendance credit at campus tutoring centers and course-related labs. You will need this I.D. card AND a current semester enrollment sticker to ride "Any Line, Any Time" FREE on the Big Blue Bus. Click here for more details.

Tips on Searching for Textbooks
At Santa Monica College Bookstore, you can easily locate textbooks by using our outstanding search functionality. The most unique and most effective way to locate your textbooks would be to search by course. However, Santa Monica College Bookstore also gives you the option to search using the ISBN, the author's name or even the title of the textbook. If you choose to search by ISBN, make sure you type the 10 or 13 digit number correctly, without any dashes. If you choose to search by Author, we suggest you specify only the last name from the Author's name. For example, conduct a search for "Smith" to find all titles by Jonathan Smith. If you choose to search by title, we suggest you specify exact wording of the title. This includes the use of articles such as A, AN, AND, and THE. When searching for author or title, if an exact match is not found, the closest match to your criteria will display.
How to get a job on campus
The following website will provide you with a list of Student Help job opportunities in various departments. F1 International students do not qualify for Federal Work Study positions.
