For the first time, the Santa Monica College Theatre Arts Department and the Shakespeare Center of Los Angeles are collaborating to create a Summer Shakespeare Festival to be held at Santa Monica College. Two productions will be performed: A Midsummer Night's Dream and Macbeth. A Midsummer Night's Dream will have an all student cast and Macbeth will have a combination of professional actors and SMC students. Students can audition and be cast in one or both productions. Selected students will shadow the professional actors in leading roles in Macbeth, and will have an opportunity to perform those leading roles in Winter 2017.
