We highly recommend that students take advantage of the invaluable opportunities our location has to offer by attending events at the following venues where internationally-renowned artists regularly perform. Many of the following arts centers offer lower-priced tickets for students.

The Broad Stage

Literally steps away from the SMC music building, The Broad Stage presents a unique collection of performers from local to international status who share stage time with SMC performing groups. Past and future performers and directors include Dustin Hoffman, Mikhail Baryshnikov, Plácido Domingo, Barbara Cook, William Friedkin, Kent Nagano, and many other distinguished artists.

The Music Center

The site of no fewer than four high profile performance centers, the Music Center provides the greater Los Angeles community with outstanding presentations of operas, choral works, orchestral works, musicals, plays, and ballets throughout the year. The Los Angeles Opera, Los Angeles Philharmonic, Los Angeles Master Chorale, and Center Theatre Group are all resident companies of this cultural gold mine.

The Southern Californian’s source for Broadway, the historical Pantages theater presents Broadway shows and a variety of other exciting performing groups.
