Description and Goals
The Nutrition program consists of Nutrition 1, Introduction to Nutrition Science; Nutrition 4, Nutrition, Fitness and Healthy Weight; and Nutrition 7, Food and Culture in America. Courses are offered in a variety of methods to accommodate student needs. Courses are taught in the traditional 16-week classroom setting. Some sections are taught in an accelerated 8-week session. Yet others sections are taught as hybrid courses or online courses.
The goals of the Nutrition program are to provide a strong background in nutrition, so that students can make informed decisions on their personal health. Emphasis is placed on the global diversity of our campus and surrounding environment. The program attempts to develop a strong background in nutrition, so that students can readily seek employment in the industry and/or continue their training at four year colleges and universities.
