Allied Health Program Description and Goals

The Allied Health program includes Anatomy 1, which is general anatomy; Anatomy 2, which is advanced human anatomy; Physiology 3, which is human physiiology, and Microbiology 1, which is fundamentals of microbiology.  These courses are prerequisites for various clinical programs such as nursing, respiratory therapy, physical therapy, and pharmacy.  Many of our students are preparing to enter the SMC Nursing or Respiratory Therapy programs, while others plan to transfer to local programs.

A primary goal of our program is to provide courses that are current in their context and presentation and consistent with the training expected by the programs to which our students transfer.
