Now in his 33rd year as a coach, Michael Santo received a B.A. in Physical Education, with a Teaching emphasis, from California State University, Los Angeles, and received his MA in Education with an emphasis in Physical Education from Azusa Pacific University.  Santo has taught and coached Swimming/Water Polo at Downey High developing 27 CIF All Americans, California State University, Los Angeles having many teams ranked in the top 10 in Division 1, Saddleback College being Coach of the Year of the Orange Empire Conference twice and conference champions 3 times and Santa Monica College leading the men’s swim program to a 5th place finish in State in 2003 and the women’s swim team to a 9th place finish in State in the same year. In 2003, Santo coached the women’s water polo team at SMC to its only above 500 season, 12 wins and 11 loses. He is currently the Head Coach of Women’s Aquatics at Los Angeles Valley College.
