Nicole Ryan



Born and raised in El Segundo, California, Nicole grew up playing volleyball since the age of eleven. She went on to play 3 years on the Varsity Volleyball team at her high school and Santa Monica College for current SMC instructor, Elaine Roque. She finished her college career at Cal State Dominguez Hills earning a scholarship for volleyball. She was named all conference and still holds records for setting assists and service aces.

Nicole began coaching volleyball in 1992 while still a player in college. She has continued that career and has been coaching for over 15 years. Nicole earned a Bachelor's degree in Physical Education and a minor in Biology from Cal State Dominguez Hills in 1997 and a Master's in Education in Physical Education from Azusa Pacific University in 2001. She is currently the Head Women's Volleyball Coach at Santa Monica College, the Athletic Director of the Middle School at Brentwood School in Brentwood California and still finds time to club volleyball for Santa Monica Beach Club in Los Angeles.

In her spare time she still plays volleyball on the beach and is an avid surfer.
