Promo Pathway Program 2017-18
Promo Pathway is the nation’s first accredited on-air promotions training program. Produced in partnership with Promax BDA — and with the generous support of the PromaxBDA Diversity Council—this one-year program immerses emerging talent in our industry through an exciting hands-on curriculum. Students graduate with a comprehensive understanding of entertainment marketing and promotion and the essential skills needed to launch their careers as preditors, writers, producers and editors.
Interactive courses include a combination of writing, editing, production and design and are taught by leading industry professionals and PromaxBDA members. Students have opportunities to gain real-world experience through internships at networks, agencies, and studios. Promo Pathway allows the students build their networks through one-on-one creative coaching and professional development workshops.
Students will be able to assess television and digital content, implement creative industry methods to create graphic content, implement visual & audio techniques all to formulate and tell a compelling story for promotional campaigns.

How to Apply
Our program has a vetting process that includes an application, a brief interview, and a finalist day event. The interview will be done in person or via Skype or Facetime and the finalist day includes 50 finalists invited to submit and share a short assignment with SMC administrators and television industry professionals.
Application Deadline: July 23 , 2017 at 12 p.m.
Finalist Day: July 28, 2017, 9 a.m. - 2 p.m.
Classes Begin: August 28, 2017
- All student accepted will be full-time students for the Fiscal Year 2017-2018.
