Carolyn Baugh is an active member of the Santa Monica community. She currently serves on the executive committees of the NAACP Santa Monica Venice Branch, the Human Relations Council of the Santa Monica Bay Area, and the Rev. Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. Westside Coalition.
She is currently employed by Santa Monica College as the administrative assistant of the History and Philosophy/Social Science departments, and assists with webpages, including the Public Policy Institute and the GRIT Initiative, and special projects such as voter registration and the PPI Annual Spring Symposium.
After transferring from Santa Monica College's former Pico Partnership On The Move community development program and the TRIO program, she has kept in touch with students and their families through issues of civil rights and social justice.
Ms. Baugh graduated Magna Cum Laude and Phi Beta Kappa from the University of Washington with a B.S. in Psychology after attending Mills College. She has resided in Sunset Park for 28 years. She enjoys martial arts, protection dogs, supporting the Black Collegians Program and the Public Policy Institute's interns and events, and visiting her son in Austin, Texas.
