Emeritus Concert Band


The Emeritus College Concert Band has been in existence since 1979. The ensemble members come from a variety of backgrounds and experience levels. Some have been playing with the group for several decades! It is a wonderful community to make music with and new members are always welcome.  Please come and enjoy the musical stylings of this talented group!

About the Conductor

​​​Originally from Colorado, Ms. Jessica Swift holds a Bachelor of Music education degree from the University of Colorado, at Boulder. She earned a Master of Music from UCLA with a dual concentration in Wind Band Conducting and French Horn Performance. While at UCLA, Ms. Swift served as a Teaching Assistant and Graduate Conductor with the UCLA Bands. Ms. Swift has been a part of the Emeritus Concert Band since 2011. She is honored to serve as its conductor since Fall 2014 after previously assisting under the mentorship of Michael Corrigan.

Ms. Swift is grateful for the opportunity to interact with musicians of all ages and ability levels and continues to enjoy a variety of performance prospects in Southern California. Highlights include performances with the Golden State Pops Orchestra, Santa Monica Symphony, and as well as conducting appearances at the Broad Stage and Walt Disney Concert Hall.
