Big Blue Bus Routes Serving SMC

NEW! TWO FREE SMC COMMUTER BUS LINES!

From Mar Vista and Palms: Ride a special SMC Commuter Route (Big Blue Bus Line 6 – Mar Vista, Palms, and Culver City) from your neighborhood to Santa Monica College, at no cost to you! This route now runs six times a day each way and there is no cost to SMC students, faculty, and staff. You must show your SMC ID card to the driver to be exempt from paying a fare.

From Santa Monica and via Metro Transfer from West Hollywood and Beverly Hills: Ride the Big Blue Bus Line 11 – Santa Monica Crosstown  to and from Santa Monica College at no cost to you! Line 11 now runs every 15 minutes! This line operates as a one-way loop from 17th and Pearl (south of the SMC Library), north to Montana by way of 14th Street and south to Ocean Park Boulevard by way of 20th Street. There is no cost to SMC students, faculty and staff for Big Blue Bus Line 11. You must show your SMC ID card to the driver to be exempt from paying a fare. Use this line to transfer to Metro Rapid on Wilshire or Metro 304 on Santa Monica Boulevard for just 25¢ to reach West Hollywood, Hollywood, Beverly Hills and Park La Brea.

LINE 7 (PICO) AND LINE 8 (OCEAN PARK BOULEVARD)

Ride Line 7 (Pico Boulevard), Line 8 (Ocean Park Boulevard) and other Big Blue Bus routes for just 75¢ per journey or if you are currently enrolled and under 21 years of age, pay only 40¢ per journey using the Junior College Card now on sale at the SMC Student Bookstore.

ON-CAMPUS SMC PARKING

SMC students who drive may either park on the Main Campus or one of the satellite campuses. Please note that street parking near the Main Campus is restricted on weekdays and evenings.

MAIN CAMPUS PARKING

Student decals for parking on the SMC Main Campus cost $75 for the Fall semester. Decals can be purchased online through the Student Self-service System or in person at the Bursar’s Office on the Main Campus.

HANDICAPPED PARKING

If you are an enrolled student, the display of a DMV handicap placard AND an SMC parking decal entitles you to park in any handicap, student, or staff parking space.

NEW SHUTTLE LOCATION FOR FALL!

A new free Olympic Shuttle and Parking lot opens on August 27, 2007 for the Fall 2007 semester. The lot is located at Olympic Boulevard and Stewart Street in Santa Monica. First bus leaves at 7:09 am and the last bus returns at 5:49 pm, Monday through Friday. Students and staff must show SMC I.D. to ride the shuttle bus for free.


SATELLITE CAMPUSES FREE PARKING

Please note: Beginning with the Fall 2007 semester, an SMC parking decal is required on any vehicle parked on any of the SMC satellite campuses or shuttle lot (Bundy, Airport Arts, Madison Music, or Olympic Shuttle) on Monday through Thursday 7 am to 10 pm and on Friday from 7 am to 1 pm.

Free parking will be available at the Academy starting Spring 2008!

If you have purchased a parking decal for the SMC Main Campus, this decal may be used for parking at any of the satellite campuses or shuttle lot as well. Otherwise, you will need a Satellite Parking Decal, available by mail (order online through the student self-service system) or in person at any of the satellite campuses. There is no charge for the satellite parking decal.

BUNDY CAMPUS PARKING

PARK FREE at the Bundy Campus. The entrance is at 3171 S. Bundy Drive south of the Santa Monica Freeway and just south of Airport Avenue.

INTERCAMPUS TRANSIT TO SMC MAIN CAMPUS: A free intercampus transit bus (Mini-Blue Sunset Ride – SMC Intercampus Transit) operates days every 20 minutes connecting the SMC Main Campus and the Bundy Campus. The first bus leaves at 7:02 am and the last bus returns at 5:54 pm, Monday through Friday. A free intercampus transit bus (Evening Bundy Campus Shuttle) operates Monday through Thursday evenings connecting the SMC Main Campus and the Bundy Campus. The first bus leaves at 5:30 pm and the last bus returns at 10:05 pm. Note: It is a College policy that students be enrolled in classes or partake in services at the Bundy Campus in order to use the intercampus transit bus. Students and staff must show SMC I.D. to ride the shuttle bus for free. The bus provides direct service to the Main Campus.

ADDITIONAL PUBLIC TRANSIT CONNECTING BUNDY CAMPUS AND SMC MAIN CAMPUS: The Big Blue Bus operates Line 14 on Bundy Drive with a stop near the Bundy Campus. This line connects to Line 7 on Pico Boulevard which stops at the SMC Main Campus. PLEASE NOTE: Line 14 stops running at approximately 8:45 pm.

AIRPORT ARTS CAMPUS PARKING

PARK FREE at the Airport Arts Campus. The entrance is at 2800 Airport Avenue.

INTERCAMPUS TRANSIT TO SMC MAIN CAMPUS: The Airport Arts Campus is within walking distance of the Bundy Campus. Students may also ride a free SMC shuttle van to the Bundy Campus. The intercampus transit connections to the SMC main campus are from the Bundy Campus.

ACADEMY OF ENTERTAINMENT & TECHNOLOGY CAMPUS PARKING

PARK FREE at the Academy of Entertainment & Technology Campus. The parking entrance is at 1660 Stewart Street.

INTERCAMPUS TRANSIT CONNECTING SMC MAIN CAMPUS AND ACADEMY CAMPUS: A free intercampus transit bus (Mini-Blue Sunset Ride – SMC Intercampus Transit) operates days every 20 minutes connecting the SMC Main Campus and the Academy Campus. The first bus leaves at 7:25 am and the last bus returns at 5:40 pm, Monday through Friday. This bus also stops at the Olympic Shuttle lot on its way to the Main Campus. Students and staff must show SMC I.D. to ride the shuttle bus for free.

MADISON MUSIC CAMPUS PARKING

PARK FREE at the Madison Music Campus. The parking entrance is at 1310 11th Street.

INTERCAMPUS TRANSIT TO SMC MAIN CAMPUS: A free intercampus transit bus (Madison Intercampus Transit) operates days every 20 minutes and connects the SMC Main Campus and the Madison Music Campus.
